Yamato OP16-079 is the Black aggro-control deck of the OP16 format. The Leader effect restores 1 life when a friendly Character attacks while there are 4 or more Characters on your field, creating a self-sustaining life recovery mechanism that compensates for Black's typically low life count. With access to powerful Black removal (Kuzan, Akainu events) and high-power attackers from the Land of Wano archetype, Yamato builds a wide board, recovers life through combat, and controls the opponent's board simultaneously. The game plan is to deploy 4+ Characters by turn 3–4 and keep that threshold maintained throughout the game while pressing the opponent with Rush attackers.
