What the simulator is and what it is for
The simulator is a free tool to play One Piece Card Game (OPTCG) against an AI, turn by turn, with the official rules automated. It is not an online multiplayer: your opponent is always the computer, which lets you practice at your own pace, with no waiting and as many times as you want.
It is useful for three things above all: testing decks before a tournament, practicing complex lines of play (when to attack, when to hold counters, how to manage your DON!!) and learning how card effects work in a real game. Whether you are just starting out or you play competitively, having an opponent available 24/7 hugely speeds up your learning curve. If you want to review the basics of the game, we also have One Piece TCG guides.
How to test your deck against the AI
Before each game you choose your deck and the opponent deck. You can face real starter decks and tournament decks from the current meta, so you can simulate exactly the matchup you expect to find at your next event. If your leader struggles against aggro, set the AI to play an aggressive deck; if you want to see how you hold up against control, pick a control opponent.
Playing several games in a row exposes the weak spots of your list much sooner than a real table: hands that do not get going, too much or too little low curve, cards you never get to use. It is playtesting practice without spending booster packs or setting up a table. If you are still tuning the list, you can adjust it in the deckbuilder and test it again here in minutes.
The 4 AI difficulty levels
The AI has four levels: basic, intermediate, advanced and master. Each level plays with a different style and makes fewer mistakes as you move up. The basic level is ideal for learning the flow of turns without pressure; the intermediate already respects the curve and blocks with judgement; the advanced manages its resources and your counters better; and the master demands clean lines of play and punishes your tempo mistakes.
The recommendation is to start low to get familiar with the interface and the phase sequence, and raise the level as you feel comfortable. If you are preparing for a tournament, play against the master level to face decisions as close as possible to a competitive human opponent.
Learning Mode: understand every card
Learning Mode is designed for anyone who does not yet know all the cards by heart. When you turn it on, the simulator shows you the full effect of each card as you play it and keeps a turn log of every play made, so you can follow the game step by step and understand why things happened.
This solves one of the biggest hurdles for new players: reading and understanding effects like [On Play], [Activate: Main], [When Attacking] or [On K.O.] in the middle of a game. Instead of pausing to look up what a card does, the simulator teaches you in context, during the game, right when it matters.
Why practice against the AI before a tournament
Showing up to a tournament without having tested your deck is the fastest way to lose to avoidable mistakes. Practicing against the AI lets you automate the repetitive decisions (attack order, DON!! management, when to use blockers and counters) until they come naturally, so at the real table you can focus on reading your opponent.
On top of that, playing many games helps you memorize the interactions of your leader and spot your good and bad matchups. The simulator automates the phases (Refresh, Draw, DON!!, Main), combat, counters, blockers and triggers, so you practice the full game and not just one part. It is in beta, so some very complex effects may require manual resolution, but it covers the bulk of the mechanics you will use game after game.
How to use the simulator step by step
- Choose your deck. Select one of the available decks (starter decks or tournament lists) as your deck for the game.
- Choose the AI deck. Decide which archetype you want to face to practice that specific matchup.
- Select the difficulty. Start on basic to learn and move up to intermediate, advanced or master as you progress.
- Resolve the mulligan. Look at your opening hand and decide whether to keep it or swap it; the simulator tells you if you play first or second.
- Play your turns. Move through the phases (Refresh, Draw, DON!!, Main), play your cards, attack and block. The simulator applies the rules and effects automatically.
- Turn on Learning Mode (optional) to see each card's effect and review the play log while you practice.

Frequently asked questions
Is the One Piece TCG simulator free?
Yes. It is 100% free and you can play as many games as you want at no cost.
Do I need to create an account to play?
No. You can jump in and start playing straight from your browser, with no sign-up or account.
Can I use my own decks?
You pick your deck from the available lists, which include real starter decks and meta tournament decks. That way you can test the archetype you play or want to learn before taking it to a real table.
Is the AI hard to beat?
It depends on the level you choose. There are four levels (basic, intermediate, advanced and master): basic is relaxed for learning, and master demands clean lines of play, much like a competitive opponent.
Is it good for learning to play One Piece TCG?
Yes, that is one of its best features. Learning Mode shows you the full effect of every card and a log of each play, perfect for understanding the rules and effects while playing real games.
Which sets and cards does the simulator cover?
It includes starter decks and tournament decks with cards from the current sets of the game, and we keep expanding the content. The simulator is in beta: it covers the bulk of the mechanics, though some very complex effects may require manual resolution.
Is it multiplayer or do I play against other people?
It is not multiplayer. You always play against the AI, which lets you practice at your own pace, with no waiting for an opponent and as many times as you like.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes, it runs in the browser, so you can play on desktop or mobile without installing anything.
